Mabe Bethonico

Mabe Bethônico (BH, 1966) is an artist and researcher living in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Working from archives and collections, resulting in installations, publications, essays, videos and lectures (most recently presentating within the project Host & Guest of Steven Madoff /Ana Paula Cohen in Tel Aviv, May 2013). Participant in World of Matter with the project Mineral Invisibility (since 2008). Editor of Provisões (launched at Venice Biennial 2013, Maldives Pavillion), has since 1996 buildt O Colecionador and Casa Mineraria, both archival constructions, and since 2000 develops the project museumuseu (https://www.ufmg.br/museumuseu/ ). Exhibitions include: the 27th and 28th São Paulo Biennials (2006 and 2008), Práticas Desmembradas, in collaboration with Anselm Jappe, Centro Cultural São Paulo (2012), La Revanche de l’archive photographique, Centre de la Photographie Genève (2010), Acervo Vivo , MIS, Sao Paulo (2010), Panorama da Arte Brasileira, MAM SP (2005), Encuentro Internacional de Medellin ‘07, and Telling Histories, Kunstverein Müenchen (2003).
