Antonio Ungar

Antonio Ungar was born in Bogotá in 1974. He has lived in Manchester, Mexico City, the Orinoco Jungle, Cuernavaca, Barcelona, Iowa City, Ramallah, and Jaffa-Tel Aviv. Ungar is the author of two short story collections and two novels, Las orejas del lobo and Tres ataúdes blancos. The latter won the prestigious Herralde Prize in 2010 and was selected as one of the three best novels published in Spanish in 2010 and 2011, according to the Premio Rómulo Gallegos. It has been translated into ten languages and is being adapted into a movie. Ungar’s stories and articles have been published in prestigious magazines and newspapers in Latin America, Europe, and the US. In 2006 his journalistic work was awarded the Colombian National Prize for Journalism – Simón Bolívar.
