Artist’s Statement

“Thanks to the award’s support, we were able to put our efforts into two different areas of our project. First, we were working to incorporate Brigada Puerta de Tierra as a community non-profit organisation, ensuring our ability to continue developing creative bottom-up placemaking initiatives by youth and elder community members. Secondly, we were reinforced to develop a program of activities in Puerta de Tierra, targeting an increasing lack of services through community self-managed alternatives. Mainly, we focused on expanding initiatives that have already proven successful in our neighborhood.”
