Elizabeth Povinelli’s statement on the expanded field of public art, and her relationship with the book “A Billion Black Anthropocenes or None” by Kathryn Yusoff, part of our research project “Collectively Annotated Bibliography”. This research, commissioned by Public Art Agency Sweden, puts together a corpus of about 150 printed materials, composed of publications focusing on artistic practices in the expanded field of art with a public purpose, from a decolonial perspective that takes into account the bias, privileges and power positions of those who wrote the dominant perspectives on art history so far.
